Matt Booterbaugh Named Board Chair; Chris Burls, Erick Van Wagenen and Judith Crawford to Serve as Officers
The North American Transit Alliance (NATA), an association representing six of the nation’s leading private-sector public transportation providers, today announced its
board leadership for the coming year following its annual board meeting and leadership retreat in Orlando, Florida.
Matt Booterbaugh, CEO of RATP Dev USA, will serve as NATA’s new Board Chair. Chris Burls, Chief Strategy Officer of MV Transportation, will serve as Vice Chair; Erick Van Wagenen, President and CEO of WeDriveU, will serve as Secretary; and Judith Crawford, CEO of Beacon Mobility, will continue in her role as Treasurer.
The leadership announcement comes as NATA continues its work to elevate the role of private-sector partnerships in public transportation and advance policies that support safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective transit services across the country.
“Strong leadership and collaboration are essential as we work to strengthen the role of private-sector partnerships in public transportation,” said Matt Booterbaugh, incoming NATA Board Chair and CEO of RATP Dev USA. “I look forward to working alongside the NATA board and our member organizations to build on the progress we’ve made and continue advocating for policies that support transit agencies, the communities they serve and the millions of Americans who rely on public transportation every day.”
NATA also recognized outgoing Board Chair Laura Hendricks for her leadership and contributions to the association. During her tenure, NATA continued to strengthen its
national presence, engage policymakers and stakeholders, and advocate for the value private-sector providers bring to public transportation systems.
Representing six leading transit contracting companies including Transdev, Keolis, MV Transportation, WeDriveU, RATP Dev and Beacon Mobility, NATA members collectively
employ approximately 71,000 people and help deliver public transportation services to more than 700 million passenger trips annually.
As NATA looks ahead to the coming year, the association will continue working with federal, state and local leaders to promote innovative public-private partnerships, strengthen the transit workforce and ensure communities have access to high-quality, sustainable transportation options.
